Assistant: Samples + Socials + Retail 

Aimée Wilder ( designs and sells materials, furnishings and accessories for commercial & residential interiors. We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our small team as our Samples + Socials + Retail Assistant. 


This entry level role reports to our East Williamsburg office from approximately 11-11:30 am to 5:30-6 pm three to four days per week (with some flexibility on days) while also working off site to research and make posts and stories to our instagram 6 days per week 2 times each day.  


Hours are approximately 21-24 hours per week however some weeks we may authorize more hours depending on our needs, exhibition schedule, sample sales and more. 


Our Samples + Socials + Retail assistant works in three main areas: Sample Assisting, Social Media, and Retail/Web. Sample assisting is maintaining our sample and materials library, preparing/shipping samples/packages, providing customer service, and setting up trade accounts with new designers. Social Media responsibilities include researching organizing and posting content to two instagram accounts and other social media platforms. Retail responsibilities include communicating with partners for our curated shop, Mini Marché, publishing and monitoring and updating their products and pricing on, and our products on retail/marketing partner websites. 


This employee will support the team with general day to day tasks, sales, and related customer service while working with our team to achieve our weekly goals and collection releases and work on our blog. 


Main aspects of this role: 

  • Maintain samples library and curated products inventory, ship samples and orders while communicating with clients via email and partner platforms. 
  • Product posting and updates to our website and partner platforms. 
  • Daily research, planning and posting to instagram and other platforms. You will be trained to do exactly what we like with our instagram and it’s quite fast, and fun. No social media experience required. 
  • General admin support, email communication and light personal assisting, package delivery etc. 


Ideal candidate:

  • Has strong verbal written communication skills, and is highly organized. 
  • Is interested in interiors and Is a positive, responsive and proactive self starter.
  • Has the ability to prioritize and handle several assignments over several weeks or months.


  • Is seeking the stability of a long term part time role to help support their other endeavors.
  • Is genuinely interested in learning new skills as you will be heavily trained for this role. 


Required Skills: 

  • Enjoys working on Mac OS and is familiar with at least one type of software from each row below. 
  • Word, Pages, Google Docs
  • Google Sheets, Excel, Numbers
  • Has some image sizing and editing skills in Adobe Photoshop, Indesign & Illustrator a plus
  • Automation, Shopify, Dropbox and partner platforms will be trained. 



  • Fulfill Sample orders
  • Cut and label samples, sheets and maintain sample library and mini marche inventory
  • Fulfill orders and trade requests from and other partner platforms
  • Occasionally hand deliver time sensitive packages 
  • Keep the samples and materials library organized
  • Create and submit purchase orders if a style goes out of stock
  • Order office supplies 
  • Deliver daily packages to shipping access points on a timely basis
  •  Product Posting and Updates (Shopify/Partner platforms)
  • Create new product and collection pages
  • Update website copy, pricing, and check that information is correct 
  • Make edits to our master product and inventory documents
  • Bulk edit information using automation through Zapier 
  • Edit website appearance, slideshows, and information, and create blog posts
  • Generate blog copy and communicate with freelance writer to revise language
  • Upload new products to 1stdibs, Spec Simple, Morpholio and other partner retail and marketing platforms
  • Sales and customer service  


Social Media:

  • Pull mood board to be integrated with Aimée Wilder product imagery for instagram stories and carousel 
  • Make multiple daily posts and stories with appropriate tags, links, caption, product titles and information
  • Participate in comment group
  • Automate posting to other social media platforms 


Communication + General:

  • Research and contact brands to set up wholesale accounts for Mini Marché and Office Kiosk. 
  • File catalogs, terms and conditions and minimum orders to to dropbox
  • Place stock orders and keep inventory of stock items
  • Create Purchase Orders
  • Create webpages of our products
  • Provide customer service to sample customers on, 1st Dibs and other retail platforms
  • Set up trade accounts
  • Light personal assisting
