Not sure what your replies have been, but sometimes no answer *is* the answer.
Unless there is a new resource I am unaware of, fixture rentals are few and far between in NYC. If you had time you could call on niche designers if they were interested in placement, but that requires the luxury of time and no certainty it will be fruitful.
You could try the reuse center Build it Green for a purchase if they happen to have modern fixtures today. They do get beautiful things in!
If anything, you can donate the sink to them if you end up purchasing it.
