Calling ALL Assistant Technical Directors! 

StoneDog Studios, a woman owned and operated scene shop is growing fast and currently seeking an ATD to join the family! 

The Assistant Technical Director (ATD), under the supervision of the shop owner, will provide support to all areas required for the successful and efficient planning and implementation of designs and physical elements for all theatrical productions and special event requests.

Primary Responsibilities 

Assist in the planning, execution, construction and/or acquire scenic designs and properties

Work directly with clients on providing estimates and building relationship through production process

Compile material take offs for estimates and material orders from provided plans.

Efficiently communicate to crew what is required/expected, keep them motivated through completion of tasks

Be able to efficiently supervise and instruct assistants. Be able to direct others. 

Must have valid drivers license

Qualifications: 

Extensive knowledge and experience in scenery construction techniques

An ability to understand, estimate and build from both design + technical drawings. Knowledge of creating material take-offs a must.

Experience with drafting programs including AutoCAD and Vectorworks

Detail-oriented with excellent project management and problem solving skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Able to lift, push or pull objects up to 100 pounds using appropriate tools

Understand budgets, estimates and scheduling and the importance of adherence 

Excellent work ethic including but not limited to: time management, work flow management, self-motivation, diplomacy, and interpersonal and collaborative communication skills.
