Highly skilled Fabricator / Craftsperson

WORKSPACE11 is a high-end Design, Engineer and Fabrication studio in Brooklyn, New York. We specializes in metal fabrication for industrial, residential interiors, restaurants, retail spaces and sculptural art. We are looking for a talented, creative and experienced individual who has a deep knowledge of metal fabrication to grow with our company. The ideal candidate: * 5+ years of metalworking experience * has a creative background with production sensibilities *enjoys fabricating an ever-changing variety of projects with rewarding problem solving challenges * has collaborated closely with managers and designers to choose appropriate details and materials for each job * can read, provide feedback, and fabricate from detailed shop drawings * works seamlessly with others in a collaborative shop environment * is precise and detail oriented with the skill to execute * can prioritize tasks while managing multiple jobs simultaneously * positive, focused, energetic and flexible *has worked in both commercial and residential construction sites *is capable of, and excited to, install their work onsite *is professional with clients both in the shop and in the field *can estimate work pace to give precise fabrication timelines *can self manage work pace over large projects to meet timelines and target bids Skills: * knowledge of and ability to machine parts and tooling * proficient at Tig and Mig welding with emphasis on aesthetics and structural soundness * experience with steel, aluminum and brass including their respective finishes and patinas * fabricate tooling and jigs as needed to help make projects more efficient * mastery of metallurgy with acute awareness of thermal behavior * keep metal shop organized, maintained, stocked and cleaned * ability to lift at least 50 lbs Position Details: * Full-Time Metal Fabricator * Working Hours: M-F 9.30am - 5.30pm with occasional schedule changes for installs or overtime Please respond with your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your experience and why you are interested in this position.
