Hi Cubers, our shop in Red Hook is looking for a Shop Foreman. Thanks! Standard Transmission Productions (www.stp.nyc) is a rapidly growing integrated Display and Experiential Advertising & Production company, specializing in technology and custom fabrication for multiple Fortune 500 clients in Retail, Advertising, and Consumer Brands. STP has over 22,000 ft2 of fabrication and design space in Brooklyn, NY. We employ a highly-skilled fabrication team including specialists in design, scenic, carpentry, metal fabrication, LED technology, digital signage, animatronics, & content creation. As a result of increased exposure and opportunities, STP is seeking a hands-on full-time Shop Foreman to manage the fabrication shop. The Foreman hires and trains shop employees, monitors work activity and production schedule, sets installation procedures, orders supplies, fixes equipment, and enforces rules and regulations on the shop floor. The chosen candidate will manage a team of seasoned fabricators to deliver memorable experiences rooted in best-in-class design, craftsmanship, and the latest technology. Projects include large-scale display installations with a technology focus and custom-fabricated environments for retail spaces, the fashion world, theater, pop-up spaces, and events. Clients include major retailers, artists, museums, galleries, ad agencies, and cultural institutions. Our ideal candidate will be a team player and a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication & organizational skills. Position to start immediately. Responsibilities: Recruits and hires new shop employees in collaboration with department heads. Creates and manages employee schedule. Oversees daily work of employees. Warns, disciplines, or terminates employees not working to company standards. Assigns duties to shop workers. Assists in repair, construction, maintenance or other tasks involved in client work orders. Reviews work completed to ensure it is up to quality standards. Enforces all health and safety policies in the shop. Ensures that all deadlines are met. Inspects and cleans shop equipment. Fixes equipment and machinery as necessary. Orders & tracks shop supplies. Operates shop machinery such as forklifts or manufacturing equipment. Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material. Sets project installation guidelines and oversees installation crew Requirements: 3+ years proven experience managing a fabrication shop 5+ years of fabrication shop experience. Demonstrates strong leadership skills. Possesses detailed knowledge of shop industry. Works well with a team. Demonstrates awareness of all health and safety protocols. Demonstrates strong organizational skills. Possesses basic computer skills. Full Comprehension of CAD based shop drawings Communicates clearly and effectively. Is capable of translating industry terminology into straightforward terms for explanatory purposes. Is qualified to operate heavy machinery.
