Seeking 1-2 considerate studio mates for my new 800sq. ft. studio in on Park Avenue and Nostrand in Bed Stuy.
Amenities—24/7 building access, 24/hour loading dock, three 24/7 freight elevators, two passenger elevators, building-wide security, secure package reception, and UPS drop-off box in building. All heat, electric, and WiFi are included.
Building/Space—Wide variety of businesses, manufacturers, photographers, artists, and other set designers. My space is a sublease off of an installation and set build/fabrication company, who has a big corner of the floor. I rent directly from the owner of the company. The space has its a private entrance, and is otherwise unconnected to his in any way.
Studio—Bright, with Northern exposure across a large window wall and views of the Manhattan skyline. Approximately 30’x20x, the space works best split in two, but I’m open to a two person team sharing the second half. The windows are being replaced by the building in the next month or two; they’re putting in new windows as pictured in the photos, which are of the adjacent space. Currently, windows have plastic on them to keep the heat in, which hasn’t affected the light.
Area—Hop and a skip to the Home Depot; various food options; vending machine on the ground floor in times of desperation. Off of the G train and buses.
Me—Set designer, working across editorial, commercial, and film. I don’t typically fabricate large pieces in-house, and keep a pretty tidy space that functions as kit storage, an office, an art studio, as well as where I prep my jobs. I typically work standard daytime hours, but occasionally come in on the weekends as well.
You—Ideally looking for someone who seeks to use the space in a manner similar to myself. Open to some smaller fabrication.
$—750/month all included for one person; 475/month for two. Asking first month rent and security. This will be a month to month rental.
If you, or someone you know is interested, give me a shout. Let me know who you are, what you do, etc. I’m on a job right now, but can show the space after work, or preferably next weekend.
Thanks and look forward to hearing from you.
