The Specialists Ltd. is seeking a Project Manager

The Specialists Ltd. is a company that serves the entertainment industry in multiple, exciting ways. We have a wide-ranging clientele that spans the film, theater, fashion, events, commerce, architecture, and art industries. Among its commissions, TSL creates custom movie props, builds fine art pieces, and designs and erects sets for Broadway productions. The through-line between our diverse projects is technical excellence coupled with boundless creativity.

Objectives

We are seeking a project manager who is skilled at invention and fabrication as well as trouble-shooting and problem-solving. Someone who is as organized as they are imaginative, who is capable of understanding a designer’s vision and executing it with precision in a timely manner—all while staying on budget. The Project Manager must grasp the entire scope of each project, estimate, and bid it. They must effectively structure the fabrication team’s time and resources as well as motivate and direct the group. They must schedule and oversee multiple projects on time and on budget, while interfacing regularly with clients and integrating vendors. They must have facility with digital design software such as but not limited to Fusion 360, Inventor, Solidworks, Autocad, Sketchup, or Onshape and have expertise in multiple areas of fabrication and construction processes.

Job Functions

The Project Manager is expected to:

  • Conceive of and execute the clients’ intentions
  • Estimate and bid on projects
  • Schedule, organize, and oversee the project from ideation to completion
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Communicate regularly with clients, the fabrication team, and vendors
  • Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships
  • Develop and promote new client relationships
  • Identify problems and brainstorm solutions
  • Adapt to changing client needs and offer flexibility and alternative options
  • Ensure precision, accuracy, and quality-control across all projects
  • Facilitate meetings within the company and externally between producers, designers, and artists
  • Provide feedback to team members to assess and develop employees and internal resources

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3 years of experience in project management or team leadership
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fabrication and construction processes
  • Facility with modern 3D-design software
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to brainstorm and trouble-shoot, adapt and adjust

Salary Range $65,000 to $85,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
