ISO Scenic Stagehands for Major Brooklyn Concert Venue

Brooklyn concert venue Avant Gardner is seeking part-time Scenic Stagehands for our Scenic Team.

Avant Gardner hosts and produces a wide variety of experiential events, requiring endless iterations of the venue’s scenic elements. The Scenic Team is responsible for taking the venue through those iterations and following design concepts devised by the Creative Project Manager and all client productions. 

Candidates should be comfortable performing a range of hands-on duties, including fabrication, painting, textiles, furniture, etc.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience

Experience with hand tools, carpentry, fabrication and rigging

Ability to work calmly and quickly under pressure

Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and use proactive problem solving

You will be subject to a post-offer background check

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Undergraduate and/or graduate degree(s) in the arts or art-related field

Machinery operator; scissor, fork, boom

Certifications in various safety and training courses

 

Physical Factors and/or Environment

Must be willing to work long shifts

Must be willing to work outdoors (all seasons)

Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds

Must be comfortable climbing ladders and being in lifts
