Freelance Job – Stretch Large Canvas

Compensation: $25 – $ 30 hourly/negotiable flat rate

An artist’s studio in Brooklyn is searching for an experienced art handler to cut and stretch some canvas over aluminum frames in our studio. This will take a few days. Some tools are available on-hand.

Canvas: 15 – 20-oz. unprimed canvas on 25-yard rolls. It needs to be cut to size and stretched around stretcher bars. Stretcher bars: ten 50” x 60.25” (1.75”) aluminum stretchers, four 80.32” x 100” (1.75”) aluminum stretchers, and ten approx. 60” x 80” stretchers. 

The ideal candidate is self-directed, discrete, punctual, professional, and highly detail-oriented.

Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience with art handling and stretching large canvases.
